  • The bout goes into overtime with a 10-10 score.  Katharine won 11-10 advancing her into the round of 32.

  • The bout committee was situated atop a platform at one end of the venue, above the awards platform.  The raised strip in the center was used for semi-final and final bouts and is surrounded by the green, blue, red and yellow strips.
  • After introductions of the fencers, Katharine walks to the red strip accompanied by her referee (and the helper carrying the equipment of the fencers).

  • The audience gathers for the semi-final and final bouts.  Coach Jean Finkleman waits in the center to go to the coach's box.  Grace Neveu and Sarah Collins watch.
  • Katharine is introduced by the announcer and runs to the center of the strip to salute the audience.
  • Katharine salutes the audience.  She goes against Camilla Batini, Italy.
